Mideast Ship Management chooses Dualog

AW_M-2

Mideast Ship Management has chosen Dualog Connection Suite for its entire fleet of about 40 tankers.

“We need complete control of our activities if we are to make the right decisions at any given time. Communication is the very heart of our business,” says Waleed Al Emeim, Purchasing Manager at Mideast Ship Management Ltd., regarding the reason for their choice of Dualog as the company’s data communication solution.

The company is owned by the Bahri corporation of Saudi Arabia and has its offices in Armada Towers, Dubai. Mideast Ship Management operates about 40 tankers all over the world, and is in a process of constant growth.

The deployment of Dualog Connection Suite is well underway, and IT Manager Ahmed Basha confirms the good experience. He also reports good feedback from the ships. “It is also important that the crew has free access to email, while at the same time we are given full control of the bandwidth and costs.”

Rickmers Reederei chooses Dualog

120 container vessels, 4000 employees
Rickmers was established as early as 1853, and has 120 container vessels in operation on all the world’s oceans. Their headquarters are in Hamburg, but Rickmers has more than 20 offices in, amongst other places, Singapore, Tokyo, India and all over Europe and America. Altogether, the company employs over 4000 people.

It started with testing, on board 5 ships. Then 20 ships. And by the end of this year, Rickmers will have installed Dualog Connection Suite on over 40 ships.

“Yes, that’s the deal with Dualog,” says Peter Ullmann, chief of Network Operations at the German giant Rickmers Reederei.

Future ready
“Our old e-mail system was beginning to fail, and at the same time stronger demands were made by the crews for their own, private email accounts. It was time for something new, and consequently we assessed a number of different data communication alternatives,” says Ullmann with regard to the process leading up to their choice of Dualog.

Just right
“Dualog deliver quality, and at the same time, the company is neither too small nor too big. When we call support, for instance, we encounter a person we already know – familiar faces. It is almost as much a friendly relationship as it is business,” says Ullmann.

Traditional Sailing Ships chooses Dualog

“We are proud to see that Dualog Connection Suite is being used on the old, traditional tall ships ‘Sørlandet’ (1927) and ‘Statsraad Lehmkuhl’ (1914). This gives the young cadets on these training ships an excellent start to their sailing careers”, says Lars Martinussen, Sales Manager Europe.

Stanford Marine chooses Dualog

“Dualog are very much on the ball,” says a clearly satisfied Darren Reeves, Operations Manager at offshore supply company Stanford Marine in Dubai. “Previously, we used several different service providers, and at times this could be very problematic. Dualog provides us with standardization, something we have a very strong belief in,” says Darren Reeves, Operations Manager at Stanford Marine in Dubai.

“From my office in Dubai, I can now monitor the data communication on any of our ships, at any given time, and make sure that everything is working as it should,” adds IT Superintendent Albert Chang.

Cost and usage control
“In addition, we can control how much bandwidth is being used at any given time,” commends Chang, who is also very satisfied with Dualog’s anti-virus software.

Dualog on over 40 ships
Dualog Connection Suite was installed on the first ships at Stanford Marine last year. Reeves reckons that all their ships will have Dualog installed by the end of 2012
