Following on from our Smart Maritime Network conferences in Athens, Tokyo and Copenhagen, the final SMN event for 2019 will take place in Singapore. The goal of the conference is to bring together this maritime hub's transportation chain stakeholders to discuss the benefits of enhanced integration and data sharing among those working in the maritime and transport logistics sectors; informing and educating on technological developments and innovations while providing wider opportunities for relationship building, business development and knowledge sharing.

SMN Singapore - Dualog

Dualog is a proud sponsor of this event. Registration is free for shipping companies.

Dualog Customer Service Manager, Andrea Giglietti, will also moderate a round-table discussion at 2pm to review the impact of maritime cybersecurity and how to make sense of all the upcoming guidelines. This is getting increasingly vital as IMO has given the deadline of 1 January 2021 to incorporate cyber risk management into ship safety. Ships need to be cybersecure, but what does this mean in practice? The challenge is to make sense of all the guidance available and put it to practical use.

  • What is the industry experience with interpreting the many guidelines?
  • Are there any simpler checklists that could serve as guidance or prioritizing?
  • Any experiences on the impact on the budget, including ICT spending?
  • What to expect from the IMO guidelines? What does mandatory mean?
  • What kind of surveys or audits are available, if any?
  • What about certifications? Are they one-size-fits-all or tiered?
  • Given how broad the scope is (including OT), does it fall in ICT, or other departments’ responsibility?
